St. Louis-1 advanced to the semi-finals of the Batesville Deanery tournament with a hard fought win over St. Maurice 55-51.
The lead changed hands several times in the first half and St. Louis-1 led 34-27. We played well as a team in the first half but give St. Maurice credit they kept playing hard. The third quarter saw St. Maurice get a little momentum as the outscored St. Louis-1 17-8 and lead 44-42 headed into the fourth quarter.
We didn’t play our game in the third quarter which allowed St. Maurice to take the lead. The fourth quarter would be a repeat of the first 3 as the lead would change hands several times. In the final minutes St. Louis-1 would take the lead and hit their free throws to hold on for the win. This was good team we beat today. I am proud of the way we kept playing hard. This was a total team effort and win.

St. Louis-2 defeated St. Mary-2 53-50 to advance to the semi-finals of the deanery tournament. In the first half both teams struggled offensively as St. Mary’s lead 14-12 at half.
The third quarter saw both teams office pick up and St. Louis-2 trailed 36-35 going into the final quarter. St. Louis-2 was able to finally get the lead late in the fourth quarter and was able to hold.
On to secure the win. This was a tough game but we found a way to pull out the win.
