Barbara Ann Thompson (nee Scheidt) was born April 20, 1953 in Cincinnati. She was the
youngest of four born to Bob and Gen Scheidt. She grew up on the west side attending Our
Lady of Victory and graduating from Seton High School. Barb became the thread that tied many
lives together forming the most amazing quilt of patterns and purpose.
While in high school, Barb was working at LaRosa’s on Boudinot when a long-haired teenager
that she remembered from the local record store, entered the restaurant. Long story short,
they married in 1972 and were blessed with three daughters Andrea, Kim, and Kristina. They
moved from Delhi to Sunman in 1986.
Barb was the creative nurturer, cultivating seeds of life for her family and friends. She became
the matriarch for many. Barb was a constant student of life and her curiosity taught her lessons
that she shared making her all more learned and skilled. The true heart of Barb, though, was
her spirited soul.
The magic of Barb was evident in every bloom of her life. Barb had musical affairs with some of
the best. Rod and Mick were her go to's but the tunes were constantly changing and evolving
as Barb's world blossomed. She loved to dance and also enjoyed salsa dancing. To Barb, life
was a highway and she was going to ride it all night long. And she did.
Barb leaves behind her husband Thomas A. Thompson, her three daughters Andrea Lynn,
Kimberly Anne (Shane Pickett) and Kristina Marie. Grandkids Christian, Courtney, Maxwell, and
Elizabeth, and her great grandson Spencer; and her siblings Phyllis Olberding and Rob Scheidt.
Gone before her are her parents Robert and Genevieve (nee Pistohl) Scheidt; her brother John,
and her amazing grandson Gavin.
