Barbara A. Thayer, 74, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Tuesday October 29, 2019 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
She was born July 4, 1945 in Rising Sun, IN, daughter of the late Zephery Carter and Bertha (Sebree) Carter.
Barbara worked as a laborer for Schenley Distillery from 1977-1988 and then worked in Housekeeping at Argosy Casino, with over 9 years of service.
She was an auxiliary member of the Aurora VFW and a former Moose auxiliary member.
Barbara enjoyed BINGO and gambling. She loved time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Megan.
Barbara is survived by her children, Tamara “Tammy” (Fred) Mahin of Aurora, IN, Troy (Shirley) Thayer of Harrison, OH; siblings, Robert “Bob” (Margie) Carter of Dillsboro, IN, Billy Ray (Anna) Carter of Hamilton, OH, Betty (Paul) Dietrich of Hamilton, OH, Mary Ann (Robert) Vinson of Aurora, IN; granddaughter, Megan Mahin of Aurora, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Steven Thayer, brothers, Charlie & Joe Carter, and sister, Candy Carter.
Friends will be received Monday, November 4, 2019, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at the Funeral Home, on Tuesday at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
