Arnold J. Bischoff- Milan

Arnold J. Bischoff, of Milan, was born on October 16, 1943 in Batesville, the son of Irwin and Rita Bedel Bischoff.  He graduated from Sunman High School and later Purdue University with a degree in agriculture.  Arnold served his country in the United States Army where he was part of the rifle team.  He was a life-long farmer, former manager of Sunman CO-OP and retired from Schwan’s.  Arnold was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, the Sunman American Legion Kenneth Diver Post #337, the Sunman Fish and Game Club, the Indiana Archery Association, and the National Muzzle loading Rifle Association.  He was also a life member of the NRA.  Arnold was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish.  He is fondly remember by his family as someone with a green thumb who “could grow anything!”  He also enjoyed cutting wood and riding his 4 wheeler.  On Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the age of 74, he passed away at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg.

 

Those surviving who will cherish Arnold’s memory include two sisters, Rosalyn (Eugene) Walke of Batesville, and Elaine (Jim) Cornett of Columbus; 5 brothers including his twin, Arthur (Mary Lou) Bischoff of Powell, OH, Eugene (Shirley) Bischoff of Marion, Irvin Bischoff of Cedar Grove, Daniel (Teena) Bischoff of Milan, and Victor (Diane) Bischoff of Aurora; numerous nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ruthie Bischoff.

 

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 3 until 7 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman.  Rosary will be recited at 2:30 p.m.  A Mass of Christian burial, celebrated by Father Shaun Whittington and Father Frank Eckstein, will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church.  Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
