Arleen Whipple, 79, of Greensburg passed away on Tuesday October 20, 2020 in Greenfield, Indiana. She was born on April 18, 1941 in Decatur County, the daughter of George Thomas and Olive Mae (Bate) Robbins. Arleen graduated from Sandcreek High School in 1959 and Indiana Business College in 1961. On March 24, 1961, Arleen married Marion Eugene Whipple and together they raised two children. Arleen was a proud farmer’s wife and sold Avon for 30 years. She was a deaconess of Liberty Baptist Church and enjoyed playing piano at church, and was also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include her Husband, Marion; Daughter, Debbie (Scott) Carpenter; Son, Kenneth Eugene (Nancy) Whipple; Grandchildren, Alex Razor and Chris (Hannah) Whipple; Step-Grandchildren, Aaron Carpenter and Landon Carpenter; Great-Grandchildren, Knox and Reed Whipple; and Siblings, Luella Sanson and Ed Robbins. She was preceded in death by her Parents, George and Olive Robbins; Siblings, Earl Robbins and Eula Curtis; Infant Grandson and Infant Granddaughter, Kimberly Gail.
A Public Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 5:00 pm on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday, October 26, 2020 at 11:00 am also at the funeral home. Rev. David Blazier will be officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Family has asked that all CDC guidelines of masks and social distancing be followed. Memorial contributions can be sent to Liberty Baptist Church.
