Ambulances diverted from SE IN hospital following air conditioning outage

(Lawrenceburg, IN) – An electrical short-circuit took out the air conditioning in part of St. Elizabeth Dearborn Hospital in Lawrenceburg Wednesday evening.

A temporary fix was put in place, but ambulances were diverted from the Lawrenceburg location to other nearby hospitals.

There were reports of smoke in the building around 8 p.m. Wednesday, but when firefighters arrived on the scene they did not find a fire.

Thirty-three patients were impacted but only 15 had to be moved to a different unit.

Repairs were made to the A/C and the hospital resumed normal operations Thursday.

There were no injuries reported.
