BMS Volleyball splits with Greendale

The Batesville Middle School 7th grade volleyball team lost to Greendale 25-9, 25-13 Thursday night.

The team had moments of success with some good passing, serving, and hustle plays.

Riley Balser earned 1 kill.

The top servers were Miki Gutzwilller, Izzy Dierckman, and Breauna Broshears with 2 service points each.

Earning 1 service point were Carlly Blanton and Maci Smith.

Gabby Brown chipped in one ace serve.

The team is now 2-1.

The Batesville Middle School 8th Grade volleyball team earned an exciting win over Greendale in the Dog Pound by scores of 25-18 and 25-21.

Abby Miller scored 8 points including 4 aces in her 11 service attempts.

Isabel Meyer was 9 for 9 from the service line earning 5 points including 3 aces, while Molly Gesell scored 4 points while connecting on all 8 of her serves.

Madi Dierckman had 4 points including 3 aces, while Jolene Dirkhising served 2 points that both fell for an ace.

Katie Wilhelm had the most assists in setting up the Bulldog attack.

Dierckman knocked in 5 kills in 9 attempts to lead the team, while Maggie Jelinek was an impressive 9 for 9 spiking earning 4 kills.

Jersey Trenkamp and Leah Meyer each added 2 kills in the front line.

Gesell was a force defensively with 3 stuff blocks.

The win improves the team’s record to 2-1 on the season.
