Alice E. Faust, age 92 of Morris, Indiana, died Friday, December 11, 2020 at The Waters of Batesville. Born February 4, 1928 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Hilda (Nee: Riehle) and Alvin Lohman. She married Ralph Faust on February 7, 1948 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Morris and he preceded her in death on January 12, 2013. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and its Ladies Sodality, as well as the V.F.W. Post #3183 Ladies Auxiliary.
Alice was a very good cook. Her family loved her meatloaf and homemade soups, but her mock turtle soup was the one they loved the most. For many years, she prepared food for the Hollywood Tavern in Penntown and the V.F.W. Post #3183 in Batesville. Alice and Ralph always put out a large garden and would often can a lot of the vegetables that they grew. She worked for many years at St. Anthony’s Bingo and managed the lunch stand at the annual St. Anthony Church Picnic. Alice loved to travel and took many bus trips with her lady friends of which she visited most of the states out west. She was a big fan of the Ruth Lyons Show which she watched daily and had appeared on the show several times. The most important thing to Alice though was her family, as she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Karol and Dennis Ingersoll of Moores Hill, Indiana, Pat and Kevin Stenger of Sunman, Indiana; sons and daughters-in-law Greg and Charlene Faust of Batesville, Indiana, Tom and Annette Faust of Greensburg, Indiana, Bob and Karen Faust of St. Mary’s, Indiana and Rick Faust of Morris, Indiana; brother Edgar (Rosalyn) Lohman of Harrison, Ohio; sisters Joan (Walter) Eckstein of Morris, Indiana and Marilyn (James) Riehle of Sunman, Indiana; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband Ralph, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Emily Ann Faust.
A private family visitation will be held. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 16th, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Morris, Indiana with burial immediately following in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to the St. Anthony Cemetery Fund.
