Alberta C. Burress, age 99, of Edgewood, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025.
She was born in Boonville, Kentucky, to Granville and Sally Helton. Alberta lived a long and full life centered around her family, whom she loved deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Granville and Sally Helton; her beloved husband, Luther Burress; and all of her siblings.
Alberta is survived by her children, Kenneth (Carol) Buress, Denny Buress, and Timothy (Gemma) Burress. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Kevin Burress, David (Tracy) Burress, Jon (Holly) Burress, and Jennifer Burress. She was a proud great-grandmother to Cheyenne, Allison, Maddison, Jonah, Aiden, and Laura, and a loving great-great-grandmother to Carter and Callum.
Alberta will be fondly remembered as an avid bingo player. In her younger years, she was known for playing up to 36 bingo cards at a time, all while helping others keep up with numbers they may have missed—an example of her sharp mind, generosity, and good humor.
Visitation will be held on December 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana 47001, with funeral services to follow. Interment will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Aurora, Indiana.
Alberta will be remembered for her enduring love for her family, her kindness to others, and the joyful legacy she leaves through the many generations who were blessed to know her.
