BATESVILLE, Ind. – Registration is underway for a blood drive at Margaret Mary Health on January 8 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The hospital is partnering with Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati to host the community drive. All donors will receive a $5 McDonald’s gift card.

Priority will be given to donors who have scheduled an appointment and walk-in donors are welcome.
“Local blood donors ensure that local patients at 30 area hospitals receive the lifesaving blood products they need to survive,” said Alecia Lipton, Hoxworth spokeperson. “Community blood drives are vitally important and we hope to see a good turnout at the Margaret Mary Health blood drive.”
Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with a signed parental consent) and in good health. Individuals must weigh at least 110 pounds and bring identification to donate. It is recommended that donors eat a good meal and drink plenty of water within four hours before donating.
