(Indianapolis, IN) – Rena Sacksteder, longtime county employee and current Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office Administrator, was recently recognized for her many years of service with a prestigious statewide award.
At a ceremony on December 9, 2024, Franklin County Prosecutor Chris Huerkamp presented Rena with the Falkner Richey/Gramling Award at the annual Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council (IPAC) Winter Conference in Indianapolis.
IPAC has honored recipients of the award since 2011. The award is named after two of IPAC’s former office administrators and its recipients are selected based on a commitment to service.
Rena has dedicated her professional life to serving the residents of Franklin County, starting in 1987 at the Recorder’s Office.
From there, she spent several years as a deputy in the Clerk’s Office before joining the Prosecutor’s Office in 1997, where she has remained ever since.
From day one, she has approached her duties with compassion, empathy, good humor, and incomparable class.
Despite the constant hustle, bustle and stress that come along with the business of running a prosecutor’s office, Rena is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that things run as smoothly as possible. She is nothing short of an icon in this courthouse and among the local law enforcement community.
Although her retirement is on the horizon, Rena’s service and dedication to her community has never wavered. She is irreplaceable, and neither the Prosecutor’s Office nor the Courthouse will be the same without her.
Huerkamp would like to thank IPAC and its Executive Director Chris Naylor for recognizing Rena’s service with this award, and, of course, Rena for her continuing devotion to the citizens of Franklin County.
