(Southeastern IN) – The last local Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection day in 2023 for Franklin County and Ripley County will be on Saturday.
HHW disposal for Franklin County will be held at the Franklin County Recycle Center from 8 to 10 AM. The center is located off U.S. Highway 52 at 9076 Landfill Rd, Metamora, IN 47030.
HHW disposal for Ripley County will be held at the Ripley County Recycle Center from 11 AM to 1 PM. The center is located at 2710 N. Hasmer Hill Road, Osgood, IN 47037.
The recycling centers permit the free disposal of cleaning chemicals, oil-based paints and stains, insecticides and herbicides, mercury products, fluorescent tubes and bulbs, flammables, and mercury.
All HHW must be in its original, labeled container. Unlabeled and mixed wastes cannot be accepted for safety reasons. Fuel tanks, window or plate glass, alkaline batteries, or latex paint are also not accepted.
