Elizabeth T. Hodges, age 93 of Batesville, died Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at St. Andrews Health Campus. Born October 19, 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio, she is the daughter of Sophie (Nee: Ehlers) and August Luenne. She married Elmo Hodges October 21, 1950 in Milford Ohio and he preceded her in death on February 23, 1997.
Betty was a full time stay at home mom and her life was dedicated to her family. She was known for her cooking and baking, especially for seasonal and holiday treats. In her spare time, Betty was an avid gardener both indoors and outdoors and she enjoyed attending concerts at the park, the Eureka Band in particular. A devout woman, many hours were spent in prayer and at church. In later years she was an active community volunteer.
Betty is survived by her sons James Hodges and Paul (Tracy) Hodges, both of Batesville, Greg (Liz) Hodges of Monclova, Ohio; sister Rita Taylor of Jacksonville, Florida; 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by son Michael Hodges and sisters Ann Borgmann and Wilma Roche.
Visitation is Friday, January 6th from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 7th at St. Louis Church with Rev. Bob Ross officiating.
