Greensburg, IN — Joshua Marsh has announced his re-election bid for Mayor of Greensburg in the 2023 municipal election cycle.
In an interview with WRBI News, Marsh says despite the pandemic that hit shortly after he took office in January 2020, his administration and the Tree City have scored great wins.
“We’ve made some great progress on the Park Road rehabilitation project and application and partnership with Decatur County Commissioners to receive federal funding for that. We’ve received additional federal funding for the airport project,” Marsh said. “We’ve brought our new water plant online. We’ve helped the redevelopment commission launch one of the largest housing initiatives in the city’s recent history.”
He also cites economic development including ribbon cuttings and chamber of commerce events each year and says the city has improved services and brought impactful projects to fruition.
“And those include the nights out we have with public safety throughout the summer, all the way down to some big-scale infrastructure projects we’ve been doing. So between public safety and infrastructure, quality of life, we’ve done the outdoor fitness park, improvements at North Park, the outdoor gamepad, and many other things that show our community as a place to be.”
Marsh adds the Make My Move program has brought Greensburg a lot of attention.
If elected to a second term, Mayor Marsh says he hopes to oversee the completion of the Park Road project and continued expansion of the trail network.
“Probably one of the biggest projects we’re going to tackle over the next two or three years is our fire station and street department complex, which is currently underway but hopefully with continuity of leadership at the helm of those projects will provide some of that.”
Marsh made the announcement exactly four years to the day he launched his first campaign for Mayor.
He was elected in November 2019.
