Two men arrested following armed robbery in Greensburg

Greensburg, IN — Two 18-year-old men have been arrested following an armed robbery in Greensburg late Sunday night.

Greensburg Police say an officer responded to the 2100 block of North Fleetwood Drive and learned that two men entered a home armed with a crowbar.

According to the report, once inside the home the pair demanded electronics, cash, cell phones, and firearms.

The victims gave detailed descriptions of the suspects, and officers launched a search of the area.

Police say one of the suspects, 18-year-old Dalton Lee Preston of Greensburg, was found by an officer allegedly with a number of the stolen items and arrested.

A second suspect, 18-year-old Jacob Dalton Gates of Greensburg, was arrested Monday afternoon and was allegedly found with the remaining items listed as stolen.

Both Preston and Gates have been charged with Robbery with a Deadly Weapon (Level 3 felony).

The Greensburg Police Department received assistance in the case from the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, Decatur County Dispatch, the Decatur County Prosecutor’s Office, and Walmart.
