Batesville, IN — After several years of planning and fundraising, a groundbreaking ceremony for the Batesville Skatepark is set for Tuesday (today) at 5:30 pm.

The groundbreaking will take place at the skatepark site at The Plex at 671 Pohlman Street.

The Batesville Area Skatepark Advocacy partnered with the City of Batesville and Batesville Parks and Recreation to bring an 11,000-square-foot skatepark to the community.

The goal is to increase physical activity and provide more opportunities for healthy and safe entertainment for all ages.

There are also plans to create a surrounding area with a pump track, bouldering walls, and musical features to help complete the space.

The skatepark will allow for easy access to Liberty Park and other amenities and will be easily accessible by the trail system.

It will also be available for daytime use.
