Governor signs 37 bills into law

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb has signed 37 bills into law, as the 2022 General Assembly session winds down.

Some of the new laws include the following:

House Enrolled Act 1001 – Administrative Authority; COVID-19 immunizations. This ended the state’s public health emergency, which had been in place since March 2020.

House Enrolled Act 1013 – Designates the Mastodon as the official state fossil. This legislation was authored by State Representative Randy Frye (R-Greensburg).

House Enrolled Act 1147  – Requires the state seed commissioner to charge a fair market fee for seed tests. This legislation was authored by State Senator Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg).

Senate Enrolled Act 1 – Automatic taxpayer refund.

Senate Enrolled Act 19 – Sentence enhancement for the use of a firearm.
