Property taxes from homeowners are due Tuesday.
While many pay via their mortgage company, some can pay today at their local treasurer’s office or by mail.
If paying by mail, make sure the post office hand stamps the envelope. Any postmark later than today will be considered late.
What happens if the payment is late?
“For the first thirty days it will be a five percent penalty. If you pay after that thirtieth day it will be a ten percent penalty,” said Ripley County Treasurer Amy Copeland.
The Ripley County Treasurer’s Office has extended hours of 8– 6 p.m. Tuesday. The office is located in the Annex Building on 115 N. Main Street Versailles.
The Franklin County Treasurer’s Office is located in the Franklin County Government Center at 1010 Franklin Avenue in Brookville.
Residents in Decatur County can visit the Treasurer’s Office at 150 Courthouse Square in Greensburg.
The Dearborn County Treasurer’s Office is located at 215 W. High Street in Lawrenceburg.
