Franklin County moved to 9-0 in conference play with a 7-5 win over Greensburg on Monday.
FC came in to the game one game ahead of the Pirates for the conference lead and was able to extend that lead with 5 conference games remaining. Despite jumping out to an early 2-0 lead, FC surrendered the lead in the 5th inning on 4 Greensburg runs, all with 2 outs. In the bottom of the inning, the Wildcats answered with 5 runs of their own. Greensburg would score 1 in the 7th before a ground ball ended the game with bases loaded in the 7th. Ben Krider pitched 5 innings to earn the win while Matthew Billman pitched the final 2 innings to earn the save. Nick Pennington, Krider, and Joe Fields all led FC with 2 hits each.
FC will travel to Northeastern on Wednesday before finishing the Greensburg series at Greensburg on Thursday.
