Batesville, In. — Large trash pickup for Batesville residents has been set for Saturday, September 2 beginning at 5 a.m. Material too large for a garbage can or heavier than 75 pounds can be discarded.
The pickup schedule begins at 5 a.m., so residents are advised to move items to the curb the night before.
Acceptable Items Include:
- old clothing
- furniture, bedsprings & mattresses (must be covered in cellophane/plastic), etc.
- old rugs, carpet pieces
- rubber hose
- appliances (as in washers, driers, etc.)
- wood (bundled 4 feet long or shorter, 75 lbs. maximum)
- insulation
- all cans or buckets, totally cleaned and dry
- paint cans (must be dried paint)
Unacceptable Items Include:
- No electronic devices containing mercury (as in TV’s, computers, microwaves, cell phones, etc.)
- No building and construction materials (bricks, etc.)
- No remodeling materials (interior/exterior)
- No landscape materials
- No car body parts including wheels and tires
- No steel or metal framing
- No tree limbs, grass clippings or leaves
Refrigerators or air conditioning units must have a sticker showing the CFC’s have been removed by a certified person. This includes without a compressor.
For a fee, TVs’, computers, refergerator, AC units and freezers can be dropped off at the recycling center at 616 John Street Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. For more information call 812-801-9099.
