BATESVILLE, Ind. — St. Louis school recently added a Buddy Bench.
The Buddy Bench is designed for students during recess.
If a student is sitting on the Buddy Bench it means they want to join and play with another group, or it can be a signal that the child is feeling sad or alone and wants someone to sit next to him or her and strike up a conversation.
Other students will notice and then go ask them to play.
