BATESVILLE, Ind. — Last Fall, St.Louis Church was invited to become a part of the St. Anthony Haiti Ministry to help provide education, food, and medical supplies to the people of Haiti.
Over the past month, students at St. Louis School have also joined in this effort.
They were shown a video about the mission trip that took place in June.
Each classroom was also given a poster of a child from Haiti that they are personally sponsoring.
Then they were each given a Haiti Bowl and asked to collect change that they may have otherwise spent on candy or other activities.
In just 12 days, the school children collected almost $3000.
This money will pay for tuition and meals for 10 children in Haiti to attend school.
It will also provide urgent hurricane relief as the village was devastated by the recent storm.
