3 of 4 area counties score in the Blue metric this week

Southeastern, IN — Ripley and Franklin Counties have joined Decatur County in the Blue 2-week metric score this week on the state’s color-coded Covid-19 metric map. Dearborn County has maintained the Yellow score. This week there are no counties in Red or orange this week, 40 counties in yellow, and 52 counties that have improved to Blue status.

Decatur County has moved to Blue advisory status. At Blue status, events and gatherings can take place at a 100% capacity when all other guidelines such as social distancing, face coverings and plans to mitigate Covid-19 are in place. Social gatherings levels are limited to 250 people.

Ripley, Franklin, and Dearborn Counties have moved to the Yellow advisory status. At Yellow status, events and gatherings can take place at a 50% capacity when all other guidelines such as social distancing, face coverings, and plans to mitigate Covid-19 are in place. Social gatherings levels are limited to 100 people. Advisory level refers to the current guidelines the county must follow. A county must remain at a lower Weekly Two-Metric Score for two consecutive weeks to move down to a lower advisory level.

o 7-day positivity rate – 4.18% – up from 3.58% the previous week
o Weekly cases per 100,000 people – 74 – down from 127 the previous week

• Franklin County –Yellow Advisory
o 7-day positivity rate – 3.24% – up from 6.83% the previous week
o Weekly cases per 100,000 people – 48 – up from 35 the previous week

• Decatur County – Blue Advisory
o 7-day positivity rate – 2.03% – down from 3.2% the previous week
o Weekly cases per 100,000 people – 67 – up from 52 the previous week

• Dearborn County- Yellow Advisory
o 7-day positivity rate – 7.24% – down from 7.33% the previous week
o Weekly cases per 100,000 people – 163 – down from 190 the previous week
