John F. Banschbach, 95, of Rising Sun, Indiana, passed away Friday, August 6, 2021, in Lawrenceburg, IN.
He was born June 3, 1926, in Aurora, IN, of the late Herman Banschbach and Mary (Doerr) Banschbach. John worked in the lab at Monsanto, retiring after over 26 years of service.
He was a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church for many years. He was a devout Catholic and even watched Mass and the Rosary on television every morning. John loved to be outdoors. He had an extensive vegetable garden and grew many varieties of fruit trees, as well as, a grape arbor. He was very athletic and health conscious. He walked and jogged long before it was the “IN” thing to do. He was an avid sports fan. He coached soccer and softball for the youth. He loved to watch his kids and grandkids playing sports. John loved his family. He will be greatly missed.
John is survived by loving spouse of 74 years, Margaret (Kinnett) Banschbach, children, John Michael (Kathi Felt) Banschbach of MN, Jeffrey Banschbach of KY, Debbie Jackson of NV, Diane (Steve) Christian of Lebanon, IN, Milissa (Jim) Wallace of Rising Sun, IN, Rick (Kim) Banschbach of Rising Sun, IN, Greg (Pam) Banschbach of Rising Sun, IN, Fred (Jen) Banschbach of KY; Son-in-law, Bill Madison of East Enterprise, IN; sisters, Mary (Roy) Mitchell of Milan, IN, Rita (Dave) Leone of Clayton, IN; sister-in-law, Jeannette Banschbach of Cin. OH; 13 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, Herman and Mary Banschbach; daughter, Carole Madison; brothers, Fred, Bill, Joe, Jerry, & Cornelius, Banschbach and son-in-law, Eric Jackson.
Friends will be received Monday, August 9, 2021, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, IN
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 203 Fourth Street, Tuesday August 10, 2021 at 11:00 am with Fr Mahan officiating.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
