Albert Edward Coffey, of Bath, Indiana, was born on April 1, 1931, a son to Robert G. and Gladys K. (Hammer) Coffey.  He graduated from McGuffey High School and later married Phyllis Ann Hampson on May 10, 1952, at Mt. Carmel Methodist Church.  Albert passed away on July 20, 2020, at McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital, Oxford, Ohio, at the age of 89.  He was a retired farmer and agent for Franklin County Farmers Mutual Insurance.

A kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Albert enjoyed family gatherings, going on rides to check out the crops, and cooking meals with his wife Phyllis.  The Franklin County 4-H Fair was always special to him as he was a ten year 4-H member with three more generations that followed in his footsteps.

Those surviving who will cherish his memory include his wife, Phyllis Coffey; daughters Connie Sparks (Carl Fix) and Jeannine Helmig; grandchildren Dawn Libecap, Alex Jameson (Abby Frank), and Jack Helmig (Kourtni); great grandchildren Summer Libecap, Kylie, Kaylynne, and Jayse Helmig; and several nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Marilyn Jameson; a sister Helen Jeannine, and two brothers Robert Keith and Donald Gene Coffey.

Cremation was chosen and there will be no public services.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Franklin County 4-H Association or to the West College Corner Fire Department.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kami Parks, Dr. Brent Bader and the McCullough Hyde ICU staff for their care of Albert, and a special thanks to Sierra for her support and kindness.
