Kenneth Lee Bruner, 80

Kenneth Lee Bruner, 80, Osgood, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville.

Kenneth was born on March 4, 1939 in to William and Madge Bruner.  He and his siblings, Bill and Betty grew up in Greensburg.

He served in the Navy on the USS Saratoga and after returning home, married Louise Bruner on February 4, 1964.  They raised 5 daughters, Laurie Lynnette, Lisha Yvette, Mary Dianne, Kimberly Dawn, and Elizabeth Ann.  He moved to Snellville, Georgia in 1982 and lived there with his family until moving back to Indiana in 2007.  Kenneth was a General Contractor, owning his own business for many years and retired in 1992 due to failing health.  Kenneth made the time to go back to High School after retiring and he earned his GED.  He loved to hunt and spend time with his brother, sons-in-law and nephews at the hunting camp.  He was a gifted singer and guitar player with a love for the blues and gospel music.  Kenneth wanted everyone he ever met to know about the saving grace of Jesus Christ and led many people to salvation in his lifetime.  He was a grandfather to 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, William and Madge Bruner, sister, Betty Swegman, daughter, Elizabeth Bruner, and wife, Louise Bruner.

He is survived by his brother, William Bruner, Lawrenceville, GA, daughters, Laurie (Edgar) Swain, Newport News, VA, Lisha Bruner, Loganville GA, Mary (Ray) Pirani, Snellville, GA, Kimberly (Chris) Shearer, Alpharetta, GA; grandchildren, Lee Stephen, Dillsboro, Kayla Boutte, Loganville, GA, Blake Sweat, Scottsdale, AZ, Chris Bruner, Snellville, GA, KJ Stephen, Monroe, GA, Joshua Pirani, Snellville, GA, Garrett Bruner, Bethlehem, GA, Benton Bruner, Middletown, OH, 14 great grandchildren, 7 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9 to 11:00 a.m. at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Roger Dean officiating.

Burial and military graveside rites will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Donations may be made in Kenneth’s honor to the American Lung Association.
