BATESVILLE, IN—The City of Batesville, Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce and Batesville Main Street are co-hosting the 10th Annual Community Tree Lighting and Holiday Parade on Friday, December 6 in downtown Batesville.
Festivities begin at 5 p.m. at Santa’s Village, located near the Bike Park, off of George Street, and will feature Santa and his reindeer, carriage rides, food and crafts, Elfie Selfies, roasted marshmallows and festive music performed by choirs from Batesville Intermediate, Middle and High Schools, and Miss Shannon’s Studio.
The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce Toyland Parade takes place at 6 p.m. and begins at the Batesville Memorial Pool, 108 N. Mulberry Street, turning left George Street, left onto Main Street, right onto Boehringer, right on Park Avenue and will conclude at Santa’s Village on George Street where Santa will disembark from his sleigh to greet children before approaching the stage for the Tree Lighting. Mayor Mike Bettice will join Santa to conduct the official Tree Lighting immediately following the parade. The 25ft Canaan Fir tree was donated by Joe Schneider of Sunman, Indiana.
“Be sure to get to downtown early to experience all that is offered at this wonderful Christmas event while getting a great spot for the parade and the Tree Lighting,” said Mayor Bettice.
The Batesville Area Historical Society will be open for their featured All-Aboard! Train exhibit from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Additional family-friendly activities and games will be available throughout the evening as well as several downtown businesses specials.
