Zelma Maxine Collins, 87, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021, at her home surrounded by all who loved her. Zelma was born on September 13, 1934 in New Tazwell, Tennessee as the daughter of John and Nell Lynch.
Zelma married her late husband, Johnny Bee Collins Sr. on May 26, 1956. From this marriage they brought 5 children into the world. Zelma loved Johnny Sr. and the two were together until his death in April of 1977. Zelma retired from Randall Manufacturing where she worked for more than 30 years. Zelma enjoyed many things in life. She loved her flowers and her rocks. She loved going on rock hunts. Zelma would search near and far for the perfect rock. Many were found in creek beds, and she went as far as traveling several miles to find the right one. Out of everything in life though, Zelma loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the love of her life. Zelma will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
Zelma is survived by her children: Johnny B. Collins Jr. of Greensburg, Carol S. (Herbert Jr.) Robertson of Greensburg, Karen A. Thomson of Rushville, Eugene D. (Cynthia) Collins of Greensburg; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, Don Lynch of Tazwell, Tennessee, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Zelma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Johnny Bee Collins Sr.; daughter, Diana H. Graves; 2 brothers; and 6 sisters.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021, from 11am to 12noon at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 12 noon with Pastor Darrel Robertson officiating. Burial will take place after the services at Hebron Cemetery in Adams, Indiana.
