Yellow Travel advisory in the region

Southeastern, IN — Because of the weekend snow and ice, a lot of the county roads in southeastern Indiana are still snow-covered, slick, and not able to be safely traveled so several schools are not operating on Monday, February 1.

Many areas in the region saw 1 to 3 inches of snow on Saturday before the rains came in early Sunday morning. Overnight Sunday rain transitioned back to snow in some parts and added an additional 1 inch of snow in areas.

No major crashes were reported over the weekend on I-65 or I-74 in the Versailles District according to Sgt Steven Wheeles with the Indiana State Police. Several minor accidents were reported in the region Saturday night and Sunday.

All Counties in the listening area are under a yellow travel advisory. Click here for a map of the latest travel advisories for each county.
