(Ripley County, IN) – Sunday, June 1, was a big day for students heading out next month on the annual Youth to Yellowstone of Ripley County trip west.

The students, representing all four of the county schools and a homeschooler, gathered to learn how to put up the tents and cots, as well as share in team-building exercises (pictured).

“Youth to Yellowstone of Ripley County is more than just a journey to America’s breathtaking landscapes-it’s an opportunity for young minds to grow,” explained Nancy Laymon of Batesville, who heads up the trip. “The orientation day ensures the students are ready for the challenges and adventures of camping and hiking in the wilderness, fostering confidence, camaraderie and a deeper appreciation for nature.”
