(Batesville, IN) – The Southeastern Indiana YMCA proudly recognized outstanding staff members with the S.O.A.R. Award (Service and Outstanding Achievement Recognition) during its March Board of Directors meeting.

This prestigious award honors individuals who go above and beyond to contribute to the YMCA community through exceptional service and achievements.

Recognizing Excellence in NinjaZone® Coaching

Tristan Wyman, a dedicated NinjaZone® coach, was honored for his remarkable impact on the program since taking the lead six months ago. His efforts have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from parents, who have expressed appreciation for the positive influence he has on their children.

“On multiple occasions, parents have shared how much their children enjoy Tristan’s classes and how his instruction has positively impacted their confidence and resilience,” said Jodi Hyde, Assistant Director of Programs. “One parent specifically mentioned that their child is now more determined and less likely to give up when facing challenges in other sports. Tristan’s ability to build strong connections with his students has led to steady program growth, making his contributions invaluable.”

Celebrating the YMCA Learning Center Team’s National Accreditation

The YMCA also honored McKenzie Callahan, Amber Rossman, Misty Meyer, Becky Harmeyer, and Holly Wendell for their dedication and hard work in achieving National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA) for the YMCA Learning Center.

This national accreditation signifies excellence in curriculum, safety, teacher education, and compliance with both state and national guidelines.

“We are incredibly proud to be the only Level 4 nationally accredited childcare center within a nine-county radius of our Center,” said Tara Britton, Chief Executive Officer of the Southeastern Indiana YMCA. “This achievement is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our Learning Center team to provide high-quality early childhood education. Their dedication to meeting the rigorous accreditation standards is truly inspiring.”

“I am incredibly proud of the many accomplishments and initiatives our team has undertaken to strengthen our community,” added Britton. “Their hard work and passion make a lasting impact on the lives of the individuals and families we serve.”
