Woman Arrested After Disturbance

Columbus, IN—A  woman was arrested on several charges after she attempted to disarm a CPD officer during a disturbance early Saturday morning.

CPD officers responded to the roundabout near 11th Street in regards to a woman who was walking in the area and attempting to stop cars. The officers located the woman, who was identified as Dystiny D. Green, 29, of Columbus, a short time later and determined that she appeared to be intoxicated.

Green began yelling at the officers and refused several orders to be quiet and was taken into custody a short time later. Green then became combative with the officers while they were putting her inside a patrol car. During the struggle, Green grabbed the top of an officer’s handgun and disengaged a safety feature on the officer’s holster before she was taken to the ground where additional restraints were placed on her.

Green was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital where she spits of an officer before she was medically cleared for transport to the Bartholomew County Jail.

Green was remanded to the jail staff on the following preliminary charges:

Public Intoxication
Disorderly Conduct
Resisting Law Enforcement
Battery by Bodily Waste on a Public Safety Official
(Attempted) Disarming a Law Enforcement Officer
