Franklin County started their season with a win over Indian Creek at home Tuesday night 13-12.
Despite a number of errors and mistakes made defensively, the Wildcats were able to secure a victory with a walk-off single by Austin Short to drive in Joe Fields in the bottom of the 7th. Despite being outhit, FC put 20 baserunners on throughout the game.
Brant Ertel started on the mound, giving up just 1 earned run. Fields and Brady Brandenburg pitched in relief
Offensively, FC was led by Garrett Ertel with 3 hits and 3 RBI’s. Short also contributed with 3 RBI’s.
Franklin County will host Richmond on Saturday for a doubleheader starting at 10 am.
