Wildcats Scalp Mohawks On The Diamond

The Oldenburg Academy Twisters Baseball team traveled to Waldron High School to take on the Mohawks Tuesday night. The Twisters used their timely hitting and took advantage of some Mohawk mistakes to win 13-1 in 5 innings.

Junior Caleb Lehman got the nod from Coach Behlmer to start the game. Lehman went 3 innings with 3 strikeouts, 2 walks, zero hits, and was the winning pitcher. He handed the ball off to sophomore Trevor Moizuk who went 2 innings, giving up 1 run (earned), 1 hit, striking out 2, and walking 1.

“Both of our pitchers looked really good on the hill tonight. They trusted the defense behind them and just attacked the strike zone.” Coach Behlmer said after the game. It was a balanced attack offensively as a slew of Twisters went 1 for 2 at the plate. The Twisters were issued 9 walks from the Mohawk pitching. “We were patient at the plate and didn’t try to do too much. When we made contact they were hard-hit balls that found a hole. We need to keep that same approach for tomorrow as we battle a tough Lawrenceburg team.” Behlmer added.

The Twisters improve to 2-0 on the season and will travel to Lawrenceburg to take on the Tigers. The first pitch is at 5:00.
