FC took 2nd place in their tournament Saturday at Trinity Lutheran.
They won the first game in thrilling fashion, taking the lead with an Alex Hedges goal from a Luke Stirn assist. Trinity Lutheran equalized and the next seventy minutes were a defensive stalemate with Trinity Lutheran packing the penalty area leaving FC to hammer shot after shot until they took the lead on a world class cross from Alex Hedges and a clinical finish from Cledith Martin.
In the championship game, the heat, tired legs, a few unfortunate calls and missed easy finishes took their toll, leaving FC wanting with a 6-2 loss. Luke Stirn scored unassisted for the first goal and Cledith Martin scored the second off another Alex Hedges cross.
FC gets a day to rest tomorrow before traveling to Hauser to start the last week of the regular season. Varsity will start at 5:30.
