Franklin County dropped a conference road game at Rushville Monday, 6-4. After Rushville jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, FC took the lead in the 4th by scoring 3 runs of their own, but left more on base after having bases loaded, 0 outs and unable to get a run across to increase their lead. The Lions responded with 3 of their own and did not give up the lead. Nick Pennington led FC with 2 hits while Landon Bundy knocked in 2 RBI’s.
FC will host New Castle on Tuesday.
On Thursday, FC will host Rushville, a win for FC will secure an outright EIAC championship. Thursday will also be Senior Night and Youth Night, when youth players are allowed free admission to the game with their team jersey.
