The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for Ripley, Franklin, and Dearborn Counties until 4 AM Sunday, January 12th.
Winds could be gusting up to 55 mph.
Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Winds will increase again with the passage of a cold front this evening. Strong winds aloft will mix down
to the ground.
People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around
trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of
your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if
you must drive.
