Wanda Kay Ruble, 74, of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on April 14, 1950, the daughter of a dedicated Army family, which meant Wanda spent her early years traveling and experiencing life in many places, including a memorable period living and attending school in Africa.
Wanda’s early years shaped her into a resilient and compassionate woman, with a heart for others and a curiosity about the world. After her family returned to the United States, she eventually settled in Greensburg, Indiana, where she spent much of her life.
Wanda was known for her strong work ethic and her caring nature. She worked at several notable places throughout her career, including Randalls, IGA Bakery, and Gecom, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness and dedication. No matter where she worked, Wanda’s warmth and thoughtfulness left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
On February 15, 1975, Wanda married the love of her life, Michael William Ruble. Together, they shared a beautiful and fulfilling life. Wanda and Michael were blessed with a deep, loving partnership built on mutual respect, care, and understanding.
Wanda was a loving wife, meme, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, whether it was sharing stories, enjoying a quiet moment together, or offering her support in times of need. Her kindness, infectious smile, and positive outlook on life will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her five children, Jeffrey Morgan, Toni (Keith) Jenne, Shawn (Danielle) Morgan, Mandy (Mark) Mayhugh, and Christina (Bill Whiton) Ruble; 23 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Brian (Tracy) Filler, Timothy (Brandi) Filler, and Rick (Billy Jones) Filler; and several nieces and nephews. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Ruble; parents, Richard (Dick) Filler and Betty Lou (Hersley) Yorn; birth father, Roscoe Whiteman; step-father, Louis Frances Yorn; siblings, John Whiteman and Beverly Stout; and her beloved cat Milo and dog Zoey.
