Walter “Butch” Edward Block Jr., 75, of Dillsboro passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lawrenceburg. Butch was born on Thursday, October 9, 1947, in Milan; the son of Walter Block Sr. and Gail Louise (Kaiser) Block. Butch retired from National Nail where he worked in the factory and drove as a truck driver. He was also a nurse for 10+ years working at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison. Butch served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed working on cars, motorcycles, hiking at Knobstone Trail in Southern Indiana, and rock climbing. Butch most of all cherished spending time with his loving family.
Butch will be missed by his daughter Heather Block of Dillsboro; Penny (Michael) Jones of Webster, Florida; brother William “Bill” (Bennie) Block of Dillsboro; sisters Joann (Tommy) Ramseyer of Dillsboro, Susan (John) Klimczewski of Dillsboro, and Carolyn Berry of Bellview, Kentucky; grandchild Colten Levi Baxter; and many nieces and nephews.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents Walter Block Sr. and Gail Louise Block; grandson Garrett “Luke” Baxter; brother-in-law Larry Berry; and Uncle James Block.
There are no services. Memorials may be given in honor of Butch to The Family.
