UPDATED ARRANGEMENTS
Vivian Janet (Thayer) Elder, 81, of Dillsboro, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at UC Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Vivian was born on Tuesday, January 28, 1941 in Rising Sun; daughter of James and Flo (Hall) Thayer. Vivian was a school bus driver for 37 years for South Dearborn Community School Corporation. She was a member of the Dillsboro Civic Club and was also a lifetime member of the Dillsboro Life Squad as a driver. Vivian enjoyed cooking, baking, fishing, and the outdoors. She also loved music, books, going to concerts, and seeing plays at the Aronoff Center in Cincinnati. Most of all Vivian cherished her quality time with her immediate family, relatives, and friends.
Vivian will be missed by her children Kevin (Denise) Elder of Dillsboro, Keith (Renee) Elder of Rising Sun, Kendal (Jeremy Morrissey) Elder of Indian Wells, California, and Kelly (Steve) Kelly of Aurora; sister Audrey Teaney of Aurora; her seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, James and Flo Thayer; husband Larry Elder; brothers Charles Thayer and Delmer Thayer; and sister Laverne Thayer.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 – 6:00 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Dillsboro Civil Center, 9824 Central Ave., Dillsboro, IN 47018. Memorials may be given in honor of Vivian to the Dillsboro Life Squad.
