JENNINGS COUNTY, IN — A Versailles man was one of two people arrested following a scuffle with deputies in Jennings County earlier this week.
According to a Jennings County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies pulled over a vehicle because they recognized the driver had a suspended driver’s license.
But investigators say a passenger in the vehicle, 38-year-old Andrew Golden, jumped out and attempted to eat a plastic baggie suspected of being filled with narcotics.
After refusing to stop, Golden was tasered and deputies were able to remove the baggie from his mouth. After a struggle, he was placed in handcuffs.
Investigators say the driver, 31-year-old Josie Robbins of North Vernon, got out of the vehicle and tried to conceal more narcotics. She was also arrested and the drugs were recovered.
Golden was taken to a medical provider to be checked out before he was booked on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine over 5 grams (Level 5 Felony), marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor), and syringes (Level 6 Felony), Obstruction of Justice (Level 6 Felony), and Resisting Law Enforcement (Class A Misdemeanor).
He was also wanted on a Jennings County felony warrant.
Robbins is facing charges of Possession of Meth, marijuana, and syringes.
