VATICAN CITY – The Roman Catholic Church may be changing its stance on same-sex couples.
Church leaders released a new document Monday asking parishes to accept gay partners, as well as unmarried couples and those who have divorced.
The announcement does not change church doctrine but signals a new outlook on unconventional families.
The report was issued during a two-week meeting with Pope Francis and Roman Catholic bishops at the Vatican.
Gay marriage is legal in Indiana following a U.S. Supreme Court decision to not hear cases last week.
