(Osgood, IN) – Congratulations to the Upper Room Café.

The non-profit coffee shop ministry in Osgood was honored as Business of the Year at the Ripley County Chamber of Commerce’s 26th annual Business Recognition Luncheon on Wednesday.

“I would have never thought that we would have been chosen. We just do what we are called to do, which is to go into the world and share God’s love, God’s grace and God’s mercy, and that’s kind of what we do here at UR Cafe is just go out and help those who are in need and just be a part of the community,” said Ken McPhee, who operates the coffee shop along with his wife, Char.

He says all funds go into their ministry.

“We do a food distribution ministry, we have an online food ministry, we have local outreach, and we do different things in the community,” McPhee said. “It’s always about helping.”

“People matter. And we love them, and that they are significant,” he added. “There’s a plan and a purpose for everyone.”
