United Way encourages continued service

Brookville, IN — United Way of Franklin County (UWFC) is encouraging continued service through the end of the month in keeping with the spirit of their recent Day of Caring. To be safe, UWFC is suggesting socially distanced “hands-off” projects for individuals.

Gather your family or friends and rake some leaves, or make a meal for a shut-in, write thank-you’s to essential workers, write encouraging letters to residents of Safe Passage or local nursing homes. Or start a donation drive for a local charity, some options are:
Red Life Food Bank
• Peanut butter
• Tuna or other canned meat
• Jelly
• Macaroni and cheese
• Canned Vegetables

Franklin County Christian Outreach Paper Goods Pantry
• Paper towels, toilet paper or tissues
• Large trash bags
• Laundry Detergent (25 load size)
• All purpose cleaner (spray or wipes)
• Bar Soap (i.e. Dove or Ivory)
• Dish Soap (no dishwasher liquid)
• Shampoo (prefers 2 in 1)
• Hand Soap

New Mercies
• Green beans, corn, mixed vegetables
• Applesauce, fruit cocktail
• Canned meats like chicken and tuna
• Spaghetti sauce

Donations can be dropped off at the UWFC office at 518 Main St. during regular business hours.
