(Brookville, IN) – The Franklin County Arts Council presents a free concert by the United States Coast Guard Band on Wednesday, June 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the Lew Wallace Auditorium at Franklin County High School.
This event is part of the “Heartland Harmonies” concert tour through the American South Central and Midwest regions performing for the public and providing educational outreach.
Under the Direction of Commander Adam R. Williamson, the 55-member ensemble performs wind band hits, virtuosic solo features, rousing marches, new music by American composers, and patriotic classics.
Established in 1925, the United States Coast Guard Band is the premier musical representative of the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security and is the Coast Guard’s only professional musical ensemble.
Officials say the band serves the American people through its mission of promoting public goodwill toward the U.S. Coast Guard, preserving and honoring the heritage, traditions, and history of the Coast Guard and our nation, enhancing pride within our service, supporting Coast Guard recruiting activities, and performing for official functions.
This concert is presented free of charge, but ticket reservations are required and can be made through the Franklin County Arts Council by calling (765) 309-1473.
