Oldenburg, IN — Lana Lischkge and Maddie Hoog won the Judges Choice Award for Innovation at the Regional Maverick Challenge recently, which was held virtually. The two entrepreneurs invented Gutter Butler and presented their business plan. Gutter Butler, is a device that is installed on your gutters to provide clean water to your cistern.
The Maverick Challenge, a business planning competition for high school students. The Maverick Challenge requires students to develop a business product and pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges, similar to the hit television show, Shark Tank. Students must give a product description, detailing how the product will be made, the estimated manufacturing costs, the expected local competitors, and the product’s marketing plan throughout their presentation.
