Columbus, IN — Two people were arrested as a result of a multi-county vehicle pursuit after Columbus Police Department (CPD) officers spotted a stolen car on Saturday afternoon.
CPD officers observed a stolen passenger in an alley near South Hinman Street. The driver of the stolen vehicle, Joseph D. Vincent, 24, of Columbus, began traveling at a high rate of speed when the CPD officer attempted to stop him and his passenger, Macy D. Bramble, 24, of Columbus. Vincent refused to pull over and a vehicle pursuit ensued as they continued east out of the City.
Vincent continued driving east of State Road 7 at a high rate of speed and the pursuit eventually entered Decatur County where Bramble exited the vehicle and Vincent continued to flee from officers. Vincent lost control of the stolen car in Decatur County a short time later and crashed into a street sign at the intersection of County Road 800 West and County Road 1200 South. Vincent exited the vehicle and laid on the ground where he was taken into custody. The officers allege that they found marijuana on the ground where Vincent was laying and also located drug paraphernalia inside the stolen car. The officers observed Macy Bramble walking on a nearby county road and she was placed under arrest after officers determined that she was in possession of a stolen laptop computer.
Joseph Vincent was charged on allegations of Auto Theft, Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana with a Prior Conviction. Macy Bramble was charged on an allegation of Possession of Stolen Property.
