OA stays unbeaten on the year defeating South Ripley 2-0.
It was a defensive battle at the graveyard on Tuesday night even though OA had 31 shots on the game. We got our third shutout on the year last night. Chris had little to do as his front 5 defensive players kept South Ripley at bay for most of the night. Chris did come up with a big save about half way through the second half as he pushed the ball up far enough to hit off the crossbar.
On the offensive side of the ball we had a lot of scoring opportunities. I will take 31 shots with 15 on frame every night and take my chances. Give credit to South Ripley’s keeper as he came up big time after time to swat away goal scoring chances.
Stuart Lamping scored in period 1 at 35:25 assisted by Drew Kersey and Ben Kraus on a pass into the 18 and to Stuart. Adam Mullen scored at 18:45 in period 2 assisted by Alex Geers on a perfect pass from behind the center line into the 18 and a one touch shot.
The Twisters had 31 shots with 15 on goal, 5 fouls, 6 corners, 2 hand balls and Chris Hautman had 2 saves.
South Ripley had 9 shots with 2 on goal, 1 foul, 1 hand ball and their keeper had 12 saves.
