(Greensburg, IN) – The Greensburg Community Bread of Life is thanking those who supported this year’s Turkey Noodle Dinner.
The 19th edition of the fundraiser, held on March 5, raised $45,620.57.
A total of 2,446 dinners were served.
“I can’t thank everyone enough for their involvement in making this such a successful event. It took six months of preparation and lots of hands were involved with getting the noodles made, the apples peeled, the turkeys cooked, pulled, and bagged, and the pie shells made,” Executive Director Melissa Foist said. “Everything is stored in our second walk-in freezer until the week of Noodle Fest! What an amazing thing to watch as it all comes together.”
Foist is also thanking those who did the little things that meant a lot such as those who donated bag or flour or a pound of butter; $1 or more; volunteered, or bought a ticket.
Next year will mark the 20th Turkey Noodle Dinner, which is one of the organization’s biggest fundraisers.
All proceeds go toward operation of the soup kitchen so that they can continue the battle against food insecurity and serve neighbors in need.
Foist says they have one pound bags of dry noodles in their freezer, which can be yours for $5.50 donation.
She says you can, “…have them for Easter dinner with your loved ones.”
The Bread of Life is located at 720 Randall Street in Greensburg.
