Boys Junior High Basketball Recaps from Tuesday, November 2:
Milan’s seventh grade defeated Franklin County 31-20. Leading the Indians was JJ Mutz with eight points and great shooting from the corner.
The Milan eighth grade won 45-25. Top scorers for the Indians were Ethan Clark with 18 points and Cole Burton and Micah Norman each with seven.
The sixth grade St. Louis boys started the 2021 season by defeating the Laurel Yellow Jackets 34-5 in Batesville. Leading the Cardinal attack was Ray Walke with 14 points and Sam Dice with nine. Others contributing to the St. Louis scoring were: Calvin Padgett four points, Caleb Harmeyer three and two each by Andrew King and Damien Brelage. St. Lou started strong and played a smothering, help defense.
The St. Louis fifth grad posted a solid 22-5 win over Laurel. The Cardinals started a little timid but used a strong defense to jump out to a 9-2 halftime lead. The offense started to work in the second half behind Cam Anderson and Ryan McGuire making some nice passes. The Cardinals were led in scoring by Hunter Young with six points. Jackson Watson, Anderson and McGuire all added four points.
